We have lots of Christmas Shopping opportunities for you this month. On Saturday 10th November Box of Frogs Mosaics, Strawberry Glass and our Pottery will be open between 10am and 4pm. There will also be the chance to buy knitted socks and wire sculptures from the large studio. On Thusday 15th November our Textiles Group will be opening their doors to visitors between 10am and 2pm. Our cafe will also be well stocked with hand crafted items made by our resident and associate artists and is open from Tuesday to Saturday every week from 9am to 4pm.
On 10th November Unique Cottage Pottery will be inviting people in to get their hands dirty and make a Christmas decoration using air-drying clay that can be taken home on the same day. Take part in their Advent raffle where you could win a decoration or pot made by either Fiona or Kim and browse the gift table, offering eye-catching ceramics that would make wonderful presents for loved ones. Fiona and Kim are always happy to discuss the processes and equipment used to make their work and look forward to seeing you.
The Strawberry Glass studio will be open from 10am and there will be a selection of glass for sale ranging from tree ornaments to larger 2 and 3D art pieces. Do come and look, the studio will be open until 4pm. Workshop vouchers will also be on sale at 2018 prices and make a fun Christmas present.
Fiona Gurney's studio will also be open from 10am for shopping, Christmas commissions (limited slots available), gift vouchers and 2019 workshop bookings.
Liz Alexander and Kristina Fuller will welcoming visitors to our teaching barn. Liz will be demonstrating knitting on 4 needles to make gloves and socks. She will have some to sell in aid of The Cure Parkinson’s Trust, particularly fingerless mittens which allow the wearer to easily use a mobile phone. Kristina is an emerging artist, she studied Art and Design at Boston College and this year won the best newcomer award at the South Holland Open arts exhibition. She will have a range of wire sculptures for sale including spiders, rabbits and spheres.
On Thursday 15th November our Textile Group are opening their doors to their usual monthly meet-up. There will be a Pop-up Exhibition of their work along with that of members of the Fibre Group and Knitting Group and a sales table of some of the Groups’ work. This is not just a chance to purchase Christmas gifts but would be a great opportunity for prospective members to find out more about the Textiles, Fibre and knitting Groups.
