Drawing with Jacs Harris
Starting Wednesday 12th January 2022
Join a 2 hour class starting on Wednesday 12th January 10am-12pm (and subsequent Wednesdays 10am-12pm)
Each week, in this relaxed, fun and friendly class, we will try a different approach to drawing by experimenting with materials, styles and techniques. We will also use lots of different source materials and references to inspire our work.
Example activities:
Drawing with collage
Movement maps
Resist/reveal
Addition and subtraction
Drawing from memory
Continuous line
Negative space
Time slots/ speed drawing
Home made tools
Sticks
Walking sketchbooks
Tiny vs Large
Classes will be based in the upstairs studio and if the weather is good we might head outside to find some real-life inspiration.
All abilities welcome, beginner to experienced. I firmly believe that everyone can draw.
Never tried drawing but always fancied it? Come along and give it a whirl!
Believe you are ‘not good at drawing’? It doesn’t matter and I don’t believe it anyway so come along and gain confidence in your abilities!
Lost your drawing mojo? Come along and get inspired!
Relapsed and frustrated artist? Come along and feel refreshed!
Perfection is not required or even desirable. We will be practising looking/seeing and exploring ways of interpreting the things that interest us with experimental techniques. You will be able to use the techniques and skills that you discover to enliven, free-up and inspire your approach to future creative projects. The classes will help you to build and develop your own visual language.
You will bring along your own sketchbook/papers and basic core drawing mediums and tools (list provided at sign-up). Extra materials outside of the core list will be provided.
£20 per class.
Limited places available.
Please book a week in advance or to guarantee your weekly session you can make block bookings.
