Scrappy Bowls with Lorraine Appleton

24th October 2020    £60    Max 7 people

10am - 4pm

This upcycling workshop uses fabrics and threads that would have otherwise been thrown away such as old sheeting, clothing, scraps from other projects, lace, ribbons, machine and embroidery threads. The workshop covers four techniques of which two use the sewing machine and two are done by hand. The morning session we will cover the techniques and the afternoon you can start on one that can be completed at home. So it's suitable for those who like slow stitching and those who like to work faster. These make excellent Christmas gifts especially if filled with eco friendly products.

What to bring:

 Fabric scissors

optional: sewing machine that can be used with ordinary stitching or free machine stitch.

If you have any of the items below please bring them along but please don't buy anything.

Old sheeting

old clothing in thin fabrics such as cotton

sari strips

old machine thread (one of the machine techniques uses a lot of thread, I've used thread from the 70's)

Embroidery, crochet threads (anything that is left over from other projects or a tangle of threads is perfect)
