Rag Rugs with Lorraine Appleton

15th May 2021  10am - 4pm £60

Once seen as a thrift craft that was encouraged as part of the "make do and mend" campaign during WW2 rag rugging has seen a revival in recent years. Now with the focus on the environment, this workshop aims to use fabric that would have otherwise gone to landfill to create something beautiful for your home.  We will cover three techniques, hooking, prodding and Amish knot.  The morning session we will cover the techniques and discuss which will best suit your design. The afternoon you can start on one that can be finished at home such as a cushion, wall hanging or rug. This will be an excellent project for using up old clothes, sheeting and bits of scrap fabric. A kit will be included which you can start on the day or take home.
