Scrappy Flowers with Lorraine Appleton

20th March 2021    £60 10am - 4pm

Like clothing, furnishing fabrics have fashions and seasons.  Each year thousands of rolls of soft furnishing fabrics are left unsold and tons of sample books are discarded at the end of each season. These sample books have many small pieces of beautiful fabrics in a multitude of colours that can be utilized for textile projects. This workshop aims to use these fabrics and those little scraps that we all hang onto thinking they will be useful someday.  On the day you will have a choice of flower template or you may use your own if you want a specific flower.  This workshop combines different fabrics and textures through layering that are brought together with hand embroidery, which can be as simple or as complicated as you wish.  You will see examples on the day of what your piece can then be made into.
