Our workshops and studios are set around the old
crew yard that is now an attractive walled space suitable
for working, eating and relaxing. All accommodation
is light, airy and warm with full disabled facilities
and is well equipped for a variety of artistic pursuits.
Our main barn is now a large, light and spacious room
suitable for painters, craftspeople or talks/lectures
and as well as being used for our own courses, will
be available on a limited basis for hire.
The Ceramics Studio is well equipped with state of
the art Shimpo Whisper Potters Wheels, Electric Kilns,
Clay Roller and Extruder and plans are also in hand
to build a Raku Kiln and Pit Firing Facility. In addition
to courses and workshops, the facilities will be available
on an open access basis and we operate a firing and
clay sales service.
We also have three studios that
are individual workspaces, a fully equipped
kitchen/dining area, outdoor seating/ dining area and
disabled toilets and parking.
Gillian is
now well established in the 'Strawberry Glass
Design' studio. Designs in stained glass
using both traditional lead and more contemporary
copper foil techniques are available.
Gillian will be
pleased to discuss commissions for individually designed pieces and
mirrors and has an active programme of courses to introduce people
to the basic skills of stained glass work. This
autumn there are themed copper foil half day workshops based on
creating your own Christmas decorations.
